“The Two(2) Choices of Life”

This is a short story on the Choices of Life. Men make choices but the Creator perfects them. You will not regret reading this particular story.

Once upon a time, there was a young lad named Kingston.
Kingston came from a wealthy and prosperous home; he has yet to learn or experience life’s difficulties.

Life was rosary for him, and he lived in joy, peace, and harmony.
So, on his 15th birthday, he met a boy called Henry. Henry was a poor boy from an impoverished background; things were so complex that sometimes, they barely fed once a day.

Kingston wondered about the problem and why life was so difficult and unfair to them. So one Sunday evening, he called his Mum to the garden and said to her, Mum, I have been curious about something, and I would love to know why we have two categories of people living in the world: the poor and the rich. Is it that God is partial, or life is unfair to some people?

His Mum wondered in amazement what could have brought such a thought or question to her son’s mind.

His Mum fixed a gaze on the floor for some minutes, with memories of her past and how difficult life was to her.

Then she said to her son, God is not partial, and life is not unfair to anyone.
We have two categories of people living on earth because that is how it was meant to be. And again, life is in stages, and stages are a process. No one gets to the top by chance, and no one remains small, she said.

You can desire greatness and remain small if you do not put God first and put in more work to get more results, and the steps you take today determine where you will be tomorrow.

Some people are poor because they refuse to follow the principles of life, and some people follow the directions but give up halfway; that is why determination is tied to fulfilling purpose.

When you think success, think determination; when you feel decision, think focus; and when you believe focus, think achievement because you can be determined and distracted (not focused). You can also be focused and not achieve any goal at the end, so that is why the three goals to success flow together.

Now she said to her son, take, for instance, if you are famished, and a table is set on a mountain with various meals and drinks. Then you are given a potion to climb the mountain and have that whole food or die hungry.

Of course, you will choose to climb the mountain no matter how hungry and tired you are because you see a brighter future and a better tomorrow up there.

Now, the poor and the rich are the same human but have different mindsets and visions, so some of those called the rich were once poor but determined to succeed, while those called the poor chose to remain in their comfort zone even when uncomfortable.

She told her son, I came from an impoverished background as well, but I was determined to succeed so that you would not come from a poor home.

Therefore, the two major choices of life depends on

  1. Determination – to determine following the direction towards achieving your purpose or/and
  2. Forfeit following the direction towards the ideas on the mission

Everything in life depends on the choice we make; either good or bad, through our determination and direction. Who knows the mind of GOD? And no man can tell the future!

God is not partial, and life is not unfair; it is all about individual choices.

THE END.
